Black & White & Red All Over

OK ... not "red all over" ... just "black & white"
(I was looking for a catchy title)

I got an order for 26 custom black & white belts for a ladies golf tournament here at the Club. I've been working on them recently ... it's a whole lot more work than I anticipated! But, I think they're going to turn out nice!

Here are some photos so far ...

The fronts of the belts are "patchwork"
with various lengths of different black & white fabrics
sewn together randomly.

So far, I have one (really) long strip sewn together,
and I plan to cut all the belt fronts from it.

Each belt will be reversible, and are made of one long strip of polka dot fabric.
I made half of them with this fun polka dot stripe
and the other half with a standard small polka dot fabric.
I figure it's good for the two teams to be slightly different.

Check out the bamboo buckles.
I was looking for these in black, but I actually think the natural will work better, because it won't blend into the belt.

I'll post more pictures once they are done ...
... until then, it's back to work!

Red Owl ...

My friends Ani & Raymond got me this super-fun coaster for my birthday.

Isn't it great?
I decided to use it on my desk for paperclips.

Ani said that she got it at a local Farmer's Market.
Apparently the artist specializes in using vintage papers.
I wonder what this Red Owl paper was originally from ...

I Might Be Fascinated With Bumble Bees ...

I couldn't stop taking pictures of the bumble bees in the flower beds at the Club ...

I love how bright and colorful this picture is ...
Really wish I had had Chad's macro lens with me ... had to use my zoom lens instead.

Check out how he's pulling the flower to his face and chowing down.
Love it.

It looks like the top bee is either high-fiving the flying one,
or about to punch him in the nose.

Butterflies ...

Here are some more shots from my recent photo shoot at the Club.

I love the colors ... so happy!

This one is my favorite.

Funny that I spent a couple of hours at my dad's house recently looking for butterflies to photograph, and couldn't find one to save my life. Then, when I'm at work and not even looking for them, they are plentiful! Isn't that how it always is??

Getting Ready for Winter

Even though I live in the warm, sunny South,
I LOVE winter clothes ...
... especially scarves.

I admit ... I might already have an impractical number of winter scarves.

But now that I'm into knitting ...

... I have one more.

Well, OK ... two more.
(I'm also making this same pattern in yellow cotton yarn - FUN!!)

Custom Shoes for Chad

Well ... ok, these aren't actually for Chad ...
... they're for his soon-to-be-born niece.

Here they are all packaged up and ready to go.
I just love that yellow!

More color options are available in my shop,
and I'm always happy to do custom color combos, too!

Custom Cozy for Deb

My friend Deb requested a custom coffee cozy in these super-fun fabrics ...

I think this fabric is called "Flutterby" but I'm really bad at fabric names.
Anyone know?

Um ... look at these little ladybugs on the reverse.
Aren't they adorable??

Of course, I had to make one for myself, too ...
... because my other sixteen just weren't enough.

Also - Deb has officially renamed this the "Happy Frappy Wrappy" ...
... no comment.

Fun With My Camera

I busted out my camera at the Club the other day, because it was so pretty outside ... Here is one of my favorite shots. More to come later ... with butterflies and bumble bees! :)

Yes, I'm Still Alive ...

You wouldn't know it by the lack of blog posts, recently,
but I am indeed still alive!

I've been under the weather for about a month,
and entirely unmotivated to blog about anything.

But, I've got a few things in the hopper,
and will post about them soon ...
I promise.

Hope you all have been doing well!!
