No, you don't have to adjust your screen ... and no, I didn't decide to change my company name to "Pink Owl Designs" (although I'm sure my sister-in-law, who LOVES pink, wouldn't mind if I jumped on that bandwagon.)
Remember this post - where I said I would get around to explaining why I bought all sorts of pink fabric for my shop on our recent trip to Mary Jo's? Well ...
Recently, I have been doing some work with the Charleston Breast Center, a non-profit medical center here in Charleston that provides comprehensive breast care for women. This place is really fantastic. I know because I've been a patient there for the last year. Because both my mother and my grandmother died from breast cancer, I go for regular screenings to make sure that I continue to remain healthy. I have had a number of screenings/tests at the Charleston Breast Center over the course of the last year, and have consistently been impressed with the entire facility ... not only are they supremely competent, but they care. They see you as an individual, and they take time to invest in your health. (And, these days, you don't find that very often!)
Because of my family history, and my experience with this center, I decided that I wanted to support them in whatever way I can. SO ... I am VERY happy to announce that I am making a new line of pink items for my shop, and I will donate a portion of the proceeds from those items to the Charleston Breast Center.
The first set of pink items are in the shop now (just look for the pink owl in the photos), and I'll be adding more as time goes on. If you see something there you'd like to purchase, just know that you'll not only be getting a quality handmade item, but you'll also be helping support a very worthy cause.
For more information, or to schedule an appointment and/or tour of the center, click on their logo below :
And ... now for the giveaway ... just to continue the love, I'm going to give away a reuseable shopping bag (your choice!) to one of my lucky blog readers! No strings attached. Seriously ... you know you want to enter! (I'm so excited ... I won my first giveaway from Linda over at Craft Apple a few months ago, and I really want to pay it forward). SO ... here are the rules, people:1. Go to my shop. (Click here)
2. Choose your favorite reuseable shopping bag.
3. Leave a comment to tell me which one is your favorite ... you know - the one you want me to send to you if you are the winner!
4. For an additional entry, tweet about this contest with a link back to this post (just make sure to tell me you tweeted it in your comment, and leave your twitter handle so that I can verify!)
5. For an additional 5 entries, blog about this giveaway with a link back to this post (again, make sure to tell me in your comment, and leave a link to your blog post)
6. For an additional 15 (YES, 15!) entries, purchase a qualifying pink item in my shop to help support the Charleston Breast Center. (There are a lot of really cute coffee cozies that qualify for this!)
7. Make sure to include in your comment an email address for me to get in touch with you if you win. I wouldn't want you to miss out on getting your fun new bag! (and, just to be clear ... I will only use your email to contact you if you are the winner.)
I'll pick a winner by random drawing on June 24th! Spread the word, folks!!!

Hi friend! Ok, so my favorite is probably the non-reversible Amy Butler one (with the cute polka dots). The reversible Micheal Miller one (with pink and green polka dots) is a close runner-up though, it was hard to decide! And of course I blogged about you - here's the link: http://desnoyers.sk/_blog/?p=1044
You know where to find me. :)
Are you back from Ireland ALREADY?!?! Can't wait to see pictures! Anyway, my favorite reusable shopping back is the Amy Butler Garden Maze/Happy Dots! That would really brighten up my collection of boring grocery store reusable bags... :-) Good for you for supporting this great cause!!!
I'm so proud of you! The store is awesome. I tweeted about you but I barely know anything about Twitter, ha. I'm reddress33 :-)
I like this one: REVERSIBLE Shopping Bag - Red Owl Designs - Anna Maria Horner.
I really like the polka dot one or the Heather Bailey’s Pineapple Brocade in Green. I never had a reusable bag but have been wanting one.
Thanks for commenting FRIENDSOFGOD! I can't seem to access your blogger profile for a way to contact you if you win ... if you prefer to email me your contact info, that's fine, too ... sara at red owl designs dot com. I'd hate for you to miss out if you win because I couldn't contact you!
Thanks for playing!
Sara
What a great giveaway Sara! Thanks for the heads up. I would love the Amy Butler (It reminds me of one of my favorite places...Hawaii).
I already had a post scheduled for next week about your cool new Etsy shop. Now I will have to readjust the post to include this giveaway!
Best of luck to you!
Well considering I've avoided Twitter and the blog world... i'll give my one and only a shot- You can send me the Amy Butler's Happy Dots bag after you draw my name :). You are such an inspiration...
I like the "Heather Bailey's Pineapple Brocade in Green" best, although they are all cute! I'd love to have one of these bags so that I can have enough reusable bags to do a full grocery shopping expedition!

You know what? That Heather Bailey bag is darling! In fact, it's my favorite, so if by chance you do not draw Andrea's name and get mine instead, send me the H.B., and I promise to loan it to Andrea on alternating Thursdays. Love you, S. And welcome home!
Great giveaway...it was hard to choose one favorite, but I think I would pick Amy Butler's Happy Dots in Linen! Thanks for the chance to win!

Oh boy,my favorite is the Michael Miller Disco Dot in Sorbet. That certainly would bring a smile to your face when you grocery shop.
Your bags are all beautiful and what a wonderful organization you are supporting! My fave is the Amy Butler Garden Maze in tan. Thanks for a chance to win!

Alrighty - Love the optic blossom on that bag - never purchased that fabric, but it looks great on there. And of course, the pink wallflower on the interior is so nice!
What a great cause to donate to. I've been through enough medical experiences where the people who cared for me really didn't care that it's really great to hear that it isn't like that everywhere.
I like the bag with :
Outer : Optic Blossom in Ice and Lining : Honeycomb in Aqua.
Very pretty.
Michael Miller dot...wonderful design! Thanks for your work with B. Cancer!!!
Michael Miller bag.... I posted right before this one and forgot my email. thanks. didn't mean to enter twice....

It was hard to pick my favorite because they are all so beautiful but I will go with the Amy Butler with Garden Maze and Happy Dots if a reversable one is ok to choose or the Heather Bailey Pineapple Brocade. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

oooh pick me, pick me :)
They are all so "cute & chic", but I think Amy Butler's Happy Dots in Linen is my favorite. I would use it to pick up my CSA (community supported agriculture) produce each week...

My favorite is the reversible blue & aqua dot one-- Outer : Michael Miller's Disco Dot in Caribe
Lining : Robert Kaufman's Solid Blue
(This bag is fully reversible, with pearl snaps on the handles so that it can be turned inside out). :) Have you made any bags with over-the shoulder handles? That's usually the way I carry my bags in (I can make it in one trip!), but none of these bags' handles look long enough for that.

I really like this Amy Butler one! http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=26474489
Although, I'm debating if it is too girly or not! We grocery shop together, so the Michael Miller one would be a bit less girly! LOL!
okay, i'm sure you could have guessed that my favorite would be the reversible shopping bag - optic blossom in ice/honeycomb in aqua. :). i'm so predictable! anyway, i don't have a blog or a twitter account, so i guess this is my one entry :). facebook is my one public outlet :). so excited for you and your wonderful shop, sara!
